Abstract
905,690. Road traffic signals on vehicles. SIGNAL-STAT CORPORATION. June 13, 1960, No. 20724/60. Class 118. A motor vehicle driving lamp control switch has three positions, one of which provides for the illumination of the pilot and parking lights, another the headlights alone, while the third provides for the flashing of the parking and pilot lights together. A rotary switch, Fig. 1, or a straight pull type switch (Fig. 2, not shown) may be used. When conducting arms 20, 25, 30 of switch 10 rest on contacts 21, 26 and 31 respectively, the tail TL, parking PL and pilot IL lights are illuminated. On contacts 22, 27 and 32 the tail and head HL lights are illuminated, a foot controlled switch FS allowing the headlights to be dipped. On contacts 23, 28 and 33, battery 12 is connected via flasher unit FL to the parking, tail and pilot lights so causing them to flash in unison to provide a danger signal to other road users, e.g. in case of emergency parking.
