Abstract

1,095,755. Lids for jugs &c. STEWART PLASTICS Ltd. Dec. 18, 1964 [April 1, 1964], No. 13508/64. Heading A4A. A jug or like vessel, of moulded polystyrene, has a lid 9 which is pivoted on the handle 2 and is also detachable therefrom. A flange 3, on the handle, tapers inwards towards the lower end, and hinge elements on a thumb-plate 8 of the lid consist of a rib 10 extending between side walls 12 which also carry pips 11 between which the narrowed part of the flange can pass. On being slid to the position shown, the pips engage beneath the flange 3 which is preferably formed with a groove 13 to locate the rib 10. The sides of the jug may be other than conical.
