Abstract

893,044. Rolling. SIEMAG SIEGENER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Nov. 6, 1959 [Nov. 28, 1958], No. 37675/59. Class 83 (4). In a rolling mill housing consisting of a stationary pair of guiding stands 4, Fig. 2, and an exchanging framework 1 which can be raised and lowered and receives the working rolls, the framework 1 is mounted on rollers and is removable from the windows of the stand on rails 3<SP>1</SP>, the rails 3<SP>1</SP> being carried on pivoted members 5 mounted within the windows of the stands 4 so that they may be swung into and out of an operative position wherein they lie immediately beneath the rollers 2. The members 5 are operated by a driving rod 8. The exchanging framework which carries vertical working rolls is raised and lowered through a cross-bar 10 by drives 12 and on withdrawal from the windows of the stand is led away on fixed rails 3, Fig. 3.
