Abstract

892,792. Twist tubes. SCRAGG & SONS Ltd., ERNEST. July 29, 1960 [Aug. 1, 1959], No. 26491/59. Addition to 821,460. Class 120(2) The false-twisting apparatus of the parent Specification is modified by provision of support for the yarn-engaging run of the belt(s) intermediate the points of its engagement with the end supporting rollers therefor, so as to render the pressure of the belt(s) on the yarn dependent on the rigidity of the belt(s) rather than the tension therein. As shown in Fig. 2, adjustably mounted auxiliary rollers 21, 21<SP>1</SP> are located between belt-supporting rollers 10, 12 and 10<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>1</SP>. A single auxiliary roller 21<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be positioned intermediate the rollers 10<SP>1</SP> and 12<SP>1</SP>, the yarn then being guided at a position intermediate the rollers 10<SP>1</SP> and 21<SP>1</SP>. In another apparatus, Fig. 4, one belt assembly is displaced relative to the other to provide the support therefor and may be adjustable, as by pivoting about a point 31, to vary the amount of interlace of the belt paths.
