Abstract

738,535. Spindle assembly. SCRAGG & SONS, Ltd., E., and FINDLOW, E. July 7, 1954 [July 3, 1953], No. 18441/53. Class 120(2). A textile spindle assembly comprises a support arm 8 in which the spindle is journalled and which is pivoted at 7 to the machine frame or to a bracket 4 thereon so that it can be swung between an operative position (as shown) wherein the spindle is urged into driving contact with a driving belt and an inoperative position wherein the spindle is out of contact with the belt, there being a tension spring 13 between the bracket or frame and the spindle support arm 8 which spring is arranged as so to pull the support either to the operative position or to the inoperative position according to the position of the support. A braking face 61 may be provided against which the spring 13 urges the spindle when in its inoperative position.
