Abstract

886,172. Reciprocating pumps. MARIEN METAL PRODUCTS CO., and MOORE & CO., BENJAMIN. March 23, 1960 [June 26, 1959], No. 10309/60. Class 102(1). A pump for dispensing paint from a reservoir 12 is actuated by a crank driven by an electric motor 116, the crank engaging a follower 134 which is adjustably positioned in the plunger 20 which operates in a chamber 14 having an inlet valve 82 and an outlet valve 18 formed to prevent drip from the nozzle 145. The chamber 14 communicates with a passage 26 through a bush 88 and the passage 26 communicates with a passage 28 leading to the reservoir 12 and a passage closed by a plug 86 which may be used for priming and releasing air from the pump. The plunger 20 has an extension 92 which closes the bore of the bush 88 on the delivery stroke. The reservoir has a stirring device 42 driven by an electric motor 56. The quantity delivered is controlled by the number of revolutions of the motor 116.
