Abstract

885,312. Latches, operating means for. WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd. March 11, 1960 [March 19, 1959], No. 9537/59. Class 44. An actuating mechanism for a vehicle door fastening which is operable from inside the door manually to release the fastening comprises in combination a body part 3 adapted to be mounted within the vehicle door 4, a lever 7 adapted for connection to the door fastening and mounted for angular movement on the body part 3 by virtue of a first pin and slot connection, formed from a pin 5 on the body part and a slot 6 in the lever 7, a second pin and slot connection comprising a pin 8 on the lever engaging within a slot 9 in the body part 3, a shoulder 10 intermediate the ends of an edge 9a of the body part which defines one side of the last mentioned slot, and elastic means acting between the body part and the lever to urge the lever both angularly and in a direction to hold the pin 8 on the lever in engagement with said edge of the body part.
