Abstract
881,732. Suspended ceilings. TENTEST CO. Ltd. April 9, 1958 [April 9, 1957], No. 11614/57. Class 20(4) [Also in Group XXV] Relates to clips for connecting section rails to other members, the section rails being of the kind comprising a web 9 having two spaced portions and at least one transversely projecting flange 8. According to the invention, the clips are each provided with a tongue 7 which can be inserted between the spaced portions of the web 9 to engage the inner surfaces thereof and a portion or portions 3 perpendicular to and extending in the same direction as the tongue against which portion or portions a flange or flanges 8 of the section rail can lie. As shown, the clip comprises an L-shaped member having the tongue 7 cut from a limb 2 and adapted to engage with a double web 9 of a T section rail, the flanges 8 of which are inserted under a limb 3 of the clip. The limb 2, is secured to a structural member 6 by screws. In another arrangement Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) the limb 2 is extended to form a hook for engagement with a flange on a channel section structural member. In the case of an L-section rail, the upper limb of the L may be turned over to form a slot for the tongue 7.
