790,960. Clips. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Feb. 24, 1956 [March 15, 1955], No. 5911/56. Class 44 A resilient clip 10 for securing an article 12 to an apertured panel 14 comprises a pair of legs resiliently joined by a nose portion 26, one leg having hook 28 and shoulder 30 means for resiliently gripping spaced oppositely facing edges 18, 20, Fig. 5, of the article, and the other leg having shoulder means 32, facing outwardly, for snapping engagement into the aperture 38 in the panel As described, the clip is shaped as in Fig. 1 from strip metal or plastic. A projection 34, between the hook 28 and shoulder 30 of the one leg bears tightly against the surface 36 between the two opposite edges 18, 20 of the article, and the shoulder 32 of the other leg engages an edge 40 of the aperture 38. Several such clips are used to secure an article to a panel; alternatively one end of the article may be hinged to the panel and clips used to secure the other end.
