Abstract

The invention comprises dyes of formula <FORM:0880858/IV (c)/1> where R is H, Cl or CF3, R1 is Cl or Me and R2 is H or NO2 but R and R2 are not both H. The dyes are made by conventional methods and are used for the direct dyeing of polyolefinic materials. Preferred dyes are (1) R is CF3, R2 is H and R1 is Me, (2) R is Cl, R2 is H and R1 is Cl and (3) R is H, R2 is NO2 and R1 is Me. Examples are provide of the preparation of the preferred dyes.
