Abstract
880,816. Gear pumps and motors. BOSCH G.m.b.H., ROBERT. Feb. 27, 1959 [Feb. 28, 1958; Dec. 23, 1958], No. 6822/59. Class 110 (2). In a gear pump, Figs. 1 and 3, having fluid pressure-loaded bushes 2, 3, the bushes are provided with passages 19, 20, 23, 30, 33, 34, 35, whilst the pump casing is provided with interconnected passages 14, 15. Annular grooves are cut in the end faces of the bushes to define portions 29, 30 in communication with the outlet and inlet side of the pump respectively. The portion 29 is connected to the pressure side of the pump through longitudinal grooves in the bushes, (see Fig. 2, not shown), whilst the portion 30 communicates with the inlet side of the pump through the passages 23, 20, 19, 33, 34, 35. The passage 35 is connected by bores 39, 40 to the passages 14, 15 whilst the latter is connected to its opposite space by a passage 43. In a modification, Figs. 4, 5 and 6 (not shown), the end plate packings enclose three pressure surfaces 70, 71, 72 communicating with passages 73, 74, 75 in the bearings. In a further modification, Fig. 7, an intermediate plate 87 is disposed between the bearing member 58<SP>1</SP> and the casing 51<SP>1</SP>, the said plate being divided by an annular packing 90 into inner and outer pressure chambers connected to sources of intermediate and outlet pressures respectively.
