Abstract
876,919. Valve frequency selective amplifying circuits. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. Jan. 16, 1958 [Jan. 16, 1957], No. 1621/57. Class 40(6) A bandpass cascode amplifier has a coupling network connected between the two stages which produces a high attenuation at a frequency outside the passband, and a low attenuation at a frequency within the passband. In Fig. 1, the coupling network comprises a tuned circuit Lac and Cl which is tapped at b. The gain frequency characteristic, Fig. 2, is flat over a wide frequency range and the apparatus may form part of a television receiver adapted to receive bands I and III the rejection frequency f 1 being that of the receiver intermediate frequency. In further embodiments, the inductor Lac may be symetrically tapped, Fig. 5 (not shown) or the tapped portion may be replaced by a double-wound transformer, Fig. 6 (not shown).
