A plating jig comprises a carrier rod or frame 10 of electrically conductive material having arms 11 extending therefrom to support articles to be plated, the arms 11, at least at those ends adjacent the carrier, being made of flat strip metal shaped to form an intermediate loop 12 matching the cross - sectional area of the carrier and dimensioned to be a tight fit thereon, the limbs extending from the loop being welded together, e.g. spot-welded at 13. The arms may be wholly of flat strip, which may be resilient, or a portion may be of rigid or spring wire 15 welded to the strip. The carrier 10 may be of square or hexagonal cross-section or part round with a flat surface, and the carrier 10 and arms 11 may be of brass, copper, mild or stainless steel, phosphor bronze, or an aluminium base alloy. Where the arm 11 is entirely of flat strip, the limbs may be shaped to form two opposed hooks to receive a tubular article, and one only of the limbs may be resilient.
