875,727. Orthopaedic footwear. BRODERNA SANDGRENS TRATOFFELFABRIK A. B. April 30, 1959 [Aug. 9, 1958], No. 14739/59. Class 17(2) Orthopaedic footwear comprises a compression-moulded insole 10 of plywood with a soft pad 13 extending across substantially the entire width of the footwear toewardly of the part 14 which engages the ball of the foot, and a further soft pad 15 extending from a point heelwards of area 14 towards the heel so as to lie beneath the longitudinal arch of the foot. Pad 15 decreases in width towards the heel and is spaced from the edges of the insole. Preferably the pads are formed of foam rubber, and, with the insole, are coated with fabric or plastic material.
