Abstract

872,050. Inductors and transformers. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 14, 1958 [Jan. 19, 1957; March 13, 1957], Nos. 2040/57 and 8223/57. Class 38 (2). [Also in Groups XXXVI and XL (c)] Printed spiral inductances on either or both sides of parallel insulating plates 1-6 are interconnected by conductors 16 printed on one or more insulating supports 13, 14 for the plates. The inductances may be interconnected to form two windings of a transformer, may be associated with condensers 23 to form tuned circuits and may be tuned by ferromagnetic cores 21 on threaded members 19 which extend through central apertures in the plates. The printing may be done by either etching or plating techniques. The conductors on the insulating support may be provided with terminals which may plug into a panel. The members 19 engage additional plates 17, 18 or alternatively the end faces of a casing which may be of plastic and coated with copper to provide screening. An inductance having a ferrite core is used as an aerial (see Group XL (c)).
