To increase the accuracy of the transformation ratio of a current transformer an auxiliiary winding is provided on the transformer which winding is divided into a number of sections 4 ... 9 which sections are permanently connected together-preferably in parallel-but which have no electrical connection to any external circuit. Thus the flux in different parts of the core 1 is equalized irrespectively of whether or not a primary element 12 is asymmetrically placed with regard to a secondary winding 2.
