Abstract

870,616. Stud and socket fasteners; eyelets. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. May 14, 1959 [June 24, 1958], No. 20200/58. Classes 44 and 89(1). The combination of a stud or socket member of a stud and socket fastener, a hollow eyelet 5 and an ornamental cover 10, 11 is attached to a garment 4, the eyelet being flanged outwardly at 5a to secure it to the base of either the stud or socket member. As shown an ornamental cover consists of a base portion 10 and a shank 11 which extends through the securing plate 8 and is gripped by tongues 7a on an attaching plate 7. The eyelet 6 extends through the garment 4 and is secured to the base la of the socket 1. The attaching plate 7 is held in place by the securing plate 8 which is itself held to a base 6 of the eyelet by a curled peripheral edge.
