Abstract

863,813. Electromagnetic relays. SPEED DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. Sept. 25, 1957 [May 1, 1957], No. 13890/57. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXVIII] A temperature alarm system (see Group XXXVIII) incorporates a polarity sensitive relay having a first coil MR1 actuated by a control signal and making contacts 10, 12 whereupon the charging current of C passes through MR2 to increase the contact pressure. The relay coil M of a main relay then operates and closes 17, thus a reverse current flows through MR2 and opens 10, 12. A pulsating action is thus established which continues as long as a control current is passing through MR1. The switch 17 also energizes a solenoid L which projects a re-set contact 20 into the path of the movable contact 10 for contact therewith when the current through MR1 ceases. The consequent opening of M retracts this re-set contact. Specifications 687,136, 817,258 and 817,259 are referred to.
