Abstract

862,543. Thermal switches. STEWARTWARNER CORPORATION. Jan. 13, 1959, No. 1241/59. Class 38 (5). [Also in Groups XI, XIII and XXXV] A non-resettable fusible cut out comprises a fixed member 91, Fig. 5, and a resilient movable member 92 held by a fusible link 80. Members 91, 92 are fixed to an earthed casing 90, Fig. 4, which carries an insulated terminal 81. The cut out may be mounted on the casing of a combustion heater, which when rising above a certain temperature melts the fusible link 80 allowing member 92 to contact the terminal 80, thus blowing a fuse 72 which disconnects the electrical equipment for the heater.
