Abstract

861,614. Nozzles. SEIBERLING, D. A., and WISH, F. W. March 9, 1959, No. 8052/59. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XXIII] A spray head 21 for cleaning the interiors of tanks comprises separable hollow hemispherical sections 22, 23 locked together, the section 23 having spray outlets 26 and the section 22 being integral with a liquid feed conduit 16. The locking means consists of a rod 27 with a stopwasher 29 at one end and a cam lever 30 at the other, Alternatively the locking device consists of a bail pivoted to the removable perforated section which, in the locking position, embraces the lower part of the other section and engages a boss thereon. The co-operating edges of the sections are machined and allow a limited amount of leakage to ensure self-cleaning of the joint. The removal of the section 23 allows the inspection and cleaning of the interior surfaces of the head and conduit.
