[Also in Group XXI] A device for ejecting fire-foam comprises at least one container 27 (see Fig. 1) into which an insoluble low-compressed gas (e.g. air) 27<SP>11</SP> and a foam generating solution 27<SP>1</SP> are introduced, the container having a hollow tubular handle 14 forming a passage dipping into the solution 27<SP>1</SP> at one end and connectible at the other to a nozzle tube 29 extending obliquely to the axis of the container and which incorporates a valve-head 13 (see Fig. 3) displaceable longitudinally by an outside hand-wheel 12 to seat at 14<SP>1</SP> to control the spray which issues from a device 33 with plurality of openings as at 34 in Fig. 8 which is fixed on to the end of the nozzle tube 29. Air is picked up by the liquid through slots 20. An atomizer (Fig. 5) consisting of a twisted grip 11 of gauze or metal on an adapter 32 can be inserted into the outer end of the tube 29. The tube 29 can be removed from the tube 14 by unscrewing at 14<SP>11</SP>. The end 9 of an adapter 28 (see Fig. 4) can be inserted against a piece 10 and held there by a connector 28 screwed into the tube 29 at 8 for charging the gas into the container 27. Two or more containers may be connected to feed a single nozzle. The container may be mounted on a wall or carried on a trailer, a vehicle or on packharness. A variety of alternative nozzle devices are illustrated in Figs. 9 to 16 (not shown). These comprise foraminous plates or gauze set transversely across a divergent tube with or without a central dispersing body as at 35 in Fig. 8.
