861,590. Agricultural implements. ETABLISSEMENTS SAVARY-SEBILLE & CIE S.a.r.l. July 3, 1959 [Aug. 12, 1958 ; May 15, 1959], No. 22930/59. Class 6(1). A plant thinning machine comprises a thinning tool 50 adjustably mounted on the end of a lever arm 4 fixed on an oblique spindle 5 which is reciprocated by a connecting rod 23 connected to a lever 24 on a shaft 16 which is reciprocated by a drive 39 from a tractor power shaft. The spindle 5 is mounted in a tube 6 attached to an arm 7 pivotally mounted on the shaft 16. A runner 10 is mounted on an arm 9 attached to the arm 7. As shown in Fig. 6, the spindle 5 is reciprocated by gearing 62, 63, the gearwheel 63 being mounted on a shaft 64 situated inside a tubular arm 59 pivoted on the shaft 16. The shaft 64 is driven from the shaft 16 by bevel gearing. The tool 50 may be replaced by the tools shown in Figs. 7, 8.
