Abstract

861,369. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems. PORSCHE, F. March 24, 1959 [March 29, 1958], No. 10176/59. Class 135. [Also in Group XXVII] A valve 19, Fig. 1, is opened and closed by an intermediate lever 12 which is moved by oscillations of a cam-type rocker lever 6. The annular member 3 around cam 2 moves the push rod 4 to oscillate the cam 6 about the eccentrically adjustable bolt 9 which supports the lever 6 between guide means 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, which pivot about the eccentrics 11, 11<SP>1</SP>, the lever 12 also being supported by an eccentric bolt 13. Valve adjustments are made by rotating the eccentrics 9, 11, 11<SP>1</SP>, 13. The guides 10, 10<SP>1</SP> are moved by a screw and nut which may be actuated remotely by rack and pinion, or by an hydraulic piston 22, controlled by a valve 24 which is actuated by a centrifugal governor 36 responsive to engine speed. Pressure oil supplied from a pump 29 is passed through the ducts 28, 26, 30, 34 to the lower side of the piston 22 when the centrifugal governor moves the supply groove 25 into connection with the duct 34 by rotation of the valve 24 through levers 35, 36. Adjustment of the valve timing and stroke in accordance with the engine speed is then made by the clockwise rotation of the guide means 10, 10<SP>1</SP> through the fork 20, the pressure oil on the top side of piston 22 being passed back through the valve 24 to the reservoir 32.
