Abstract

859,085. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 14, 1957 [Jan. 17, 1956], No. 1339/57. Class 131 A dry shaver comprises an axially displaceable shear plate 1 and a rotary cutter 4 urged into contact with the plate by a spring 10, a stop 2 limiting the outward movement of the shear plate in the undisplaced position of the shear plate and a stop 8 limiting the displacement against the action of the spring 10 being provided. As shown, the shear plate is in the position of maximum inward displacement a recess 9 in the drive shaft 6 engaging the stop 8 provided on a rotated toothed wheel 7 in which the squared end of the shaft 6 is drivingly engaged and axially displaceable. A stop 3 engages the rim 11 of the shear plate to limit tilting of the shear plate and cutter. Specifications 762,438, 859,086 and 859,087 are referred to.
