Abstract
856,439. Motor vehicle driving gears. SEJKORA, L., RABUS, K., and NOVOTNY, K., [trading as VOITH, J. M. [Firm of]]. Dec. 13, 1957, No. 38865/57. Class 79(2). In a hydraulic power transmission system for a vehicle, each drive axle 8 Fig. 1 with its associated spur gear reducer 38 and at least two fluid drives A, B and bevel gear 35 is mounted in a casing 30 pivoted to the bogie or frame 43 on a transverse axis parallel to the drive axle 8 and containing a neck bearing 42 the axis of which is longitudinal of the vehicle so that the drive axle 8 is free for spring-cushioned and rolling movements without deflections of the drive shaft 3. The drive shaft 3 may be coupled to bevel gears 31 in a casing 33 rigidly attached to the frame 43. In modifications the prime mover may be attached to the casing 33 by flanges or may be attached directly to the frame 43 the casing 33 being omitted.
