Abstract

854,652. Window-cleaning devices : reservoir applicators. SCOTT, T. March 23, 1959 [March 21, 1958], No. 9041/58. Classes 19 and 138(1). A window - cleaning device comprises a head provided with a rubber squeegee 4 arranged parallel with an elongated sponge member 6 or a further rubber squeegee or a brush, the head being mounted on a handle 8 through which passes a pipe 12 for delivering water to the window via an outlet pipe 15. The water is drawn from a vessel (not shown) and pumped through the pipes 12, 15 by repeatedly squeezing and releasing a rubber bulb 9. Detergent may be fed into the cleaning water when desired by squeezing a detergent container 16. The member 6 is used for cleaning the window and the squeegee 4 is used for removing the surplus water. The handle 8 may be formed in sections for adjusting its overall length. Alternatively the bulb 9 may be replaced by an electrically operated pump.
