854,463. Vibratory mechanisms. UHDE, G.m.b.H.,F. Dec. 21,1956 [Dec. 27, 1955], No. 38937/56. Class 80 (4). In an oscillating conveyer or like. system a tube 11 is supported on springs 12 carried by a frame 5 itself supported on springs 3, 4, and a pair of rotary out-of-balance oscillators 8, only one of which is shown, is fixed on the frame 5 with the plane of rotation 9 of the out-of-balance fly-weights passing through the centre of gravity 10 of the oscillating tube 11. It is stated that during oscillation at resonance of the tube 11, the frame 5 and oscillator 8 remain substantially at rest. The tube shown has an inlet 13, outlet 14 and an inspection aperture 131. In a modification a resiliently-mounted frame carrying an oscillator resiliently supports a pair of symmetrical conveyer tubes which are oppositely oscillated, the outlet of one tube opening into the inlet of the other. The flyweights of the oscillator then rotate in the centre plane of the frame. In a further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), a resiliently-mounted frame carries an oscillator whose flyweights rotate in a plane parallel to the frame and passing through the centre of gravity of a trough resiliently supported on the frame, a second oscillating body being also resiliently mounted on the frame to absorb a component of the oscillations. To impart torsional oscillations to a helical conveyer 47, Fig. 4, a frame 54 carrying oscillators 55, 551 is connected by springs 53 to the conveyer 47 and the latter is mounted on springs 48, 49. The springs 48, 49 may be omitted and the frame 54 be suspended by springs 56.
