[Also in Group II] A carrier 1 of a vibrating device for material ranging from granular to pulverulent comprises a circular, spiral, helical or like trough or tube and is subjected to a circular translatory motion about a vertical axis and a tumbling motion transverse to the plane of the first motion. This is achieved by supporting a frame 2 carrying the carrier 1 on flexible inclined members 3, 4, 5, 6 which resolve the out-ofbalance force from a rotating unbalanced mass 10 into two components at right angles. The material is simultaneously conveyed along the trough or tube and given a rolling motion. In another arrangement the trough or tube is resiliently mounted and the two component forces derived from two rotating unbalanced masses which are axially spaced and 90 degrees out of phase.
