For delivering measured quantities of liquid from a bottle, a hollow stopper 1 has a pouring tube 4 slidable in a cylinder 3 having a closely fitting steel ball 5, ports 8 and a small bore 7 which connects the interior of the cylinder with the interior of the stopper. When the bottle is inverted, liquid runs out through the ports 8 and the pouring tube and also flows into the cylinder 3 through the bore 7 at a rate which controls the descent of the ball into a position in which it seats on the inner end of the pouring tube and stops the flow of liquid. Different quantities can be delivered by varying the size of the ports 8, of the bore 7 and of the length of the cylinder 3 and, for a particular stopper, the quantity delivered can be varied by sliding in the pouring tube so that it masks the ports 8 to a degree indicated by a scale on the tube. An air vent tube 6 is provided.
