Abstract
393,223. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. BEER, A., Cavallino, Lugano, Switzerland. Jan. 19, 1933, No. 1820. Convention date, July 8, 1932. [Class 106 (v).] A device for dispensing measured quantities of liquid from a bottle or the like comprises a pair of spaced pistons 10a, 10b adapted to slide in a sleeve 2, the greater part of which is within the neck 1 of the bottle and which is provided at its ends with ports 13, 14. If, from the normal position shown in the Figure, the bottle is tilted to the pouring position, liquid flows into the sleeve through the ports 13 and the pistons slide outwardly under gravity first, in the mid-position, to separate a measured quantity of liquid, and in their extreme outer position to allow that liquid to flow into a pouring nozzle 9. The distance between the pistons may be adjusted in order to vary the quantity of liquid delivered.
