Dough lumps are conveyed and shaped between parallel moving belts 28, 74 at an angle to the horizontal, the upper belt 74 moving faster so that the dough is rolled as it is elevated. The lower belt 28 is guided by rollers 32, 34, 30 on a pair of triangular frames, e.g. 22. The frames are attached to uprights, e.g. 2, at their lower ends and to uprights, e.g. 6, 8, at their upper ends. The roller 30 is driven from a motor M1 on a shelf 44 which is adjustable by a screw 48. A curved support 36, Fig. 6, limits the sag of the lower belt 28. A rectangular frame 84 also guides the belt. The upper belt 74 is guided by rollers 62, 64 on the ends of a frame 60. One end is supported from a lower frame through a slotted bracket 80 and the other end is supported by a beam through an adjustable joint on the end of a beam 50 extending from the top of one of the uprights. A screw 82 adjusts the space between the belts. The roller 62 is driven from a motor M2 carried by a bracket 70 on the beam 50. The dough pieces are conveyed by a belt D from a dough divider and may be dusted with flour. After passing through the machine the rolled dough pieces are delivered at a height which facilitates subsequent handling.
