Class 100(2) A web 20 is deflected by a roller 65 so as to wrap around an arc of a blanket cylinder 26 co-operating with a blanket cylinder 27 to print simultaneously on both sides of the web, thus ensuring that the web is always in contact with the blanket cylinder 27 even when gaps in the blankets of the cylinders 26, 27 are opposite one another. As shown, the rollers 65, 66 are positioned between similar printing units 11, 12. The unit 11 has plate cylinders 27, 28 engaging the blanket cylinders 25, 26 respectively, while the unit 12 has plate cylinders 32, 33 engaging blanket cylinders 30, 31 respectively. The web is deflected in a similar manner beyond the blanket cylinders 30, 31 by a roller 65<SP>1</SP> Further rollers 661 restore the web to a path along the common tangent to the blanket cylinders after deflection. The rollers 65, 651, 66, 661 preferably have surfaces comprising a plurality of protruding points to reduce offset.
