Abstract

845,623. Internal shoe-drum brakes. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. Oct. 23, 1958 [Oct. 23, 1957], No. 33999/58. Class 103 (1). In a vibration damping means for an interna 1 shoe-drum brake, the shoes are provided with axial support on the side towards the brake carrier and/or the side towards the drum and the shoe is pivoted at one end only on the opposite side of the shoe on an arm 22 supported from a brake-operating cylinder 20. Fig. 1 illustrates an embodiment where the shoe 11 is urged, by a compression-spring 19 and bolt 17 disposed concentrically in an adjustment device 14, axially by its surface 16 against a sheet-metal contact-member 15 secured to the brake back-plate 10. Figs. 3 and 4 illustrate another embodiment where abutments 25 secured to the brake back-plate 10 extend around the shoes 11 and round the end surfaces 26 of the abutments and are forced into engagement with the outside surfaces of the shoes to prevent vibrations.
