909,188. Disc brakes. PORSCHE, F. A. E. Sept. 27, 1960 [Oct. 21, 1959], No. 33115/60. Class 103 (1). [Also in Group XXVI] In order to prevent the entry of dust and water into the brake-applying piston and cylinder means of a spot-type disc brake, a pressed sheet-metal cover means 13 surrounds an end surface 14 of each piston 9, 9<SP>1</SP> and is guided within an annular gap 19 (19<SP>1</SP>) provided within the calliper housing 6 of the brake. The cover means 13 is of cylindrical construction and of U-shaped cross-section having an inner leg portion 15 secured to the piston by a pressed-in annular bead 17 and an outer leg portion 18 guided within the annular gap 19 (19<SP>1</SP>) provided in the calliper housing. The housing is made up of two parts 6, 6<SP>1</SP>; the right-hand part 6<SP>1</SP> being provided with a cylindrical sleeve member 20 within which operates a piston 9<SP>1</SP>. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 688,382.
