Abstract

843,117. Idler rollers for belt conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Jan. 17, 1958 [Jan. 17, 1957],No. 1728/57. Class 78 (1). In a belt conveyer of the kind in which the belt is supported on a series of idler rollers each comprising a flexible shaft on which are threaded a number of roller elements, at least some of the shafts are so mounted that their ends are directed outwardly and forwardly, so that a self-centring action is applied to the belt. As shown, the flexible shafts 15a, 15b are bowed downwards to trough the belt and are mounted at their ends by cylindrical trunnion members 14 engaging in yokes 13 secured to side members 11 of the conveyer framework. Alternate shafts 15b have their ends directed outwards and forwards by fixing their yokes 13 in inclined positions relative to the members 11. The shafts 15a, 15b are non'-rotatable but may also be mounted for rotation in the members 14. Specifications 806,605 and 827,002 are referred to.
