840,195. Reclining chairs. RESEARCH INTERESTS Ltd. Nov. 7, 1958 [Nov. 12, 1957], No. 35285/57. Class 52(2) A reclining chair has a chair back supported for pivotal movement within the fixed chair frame by means of metal strips 2, 3 attached to the. chairback and seat respectively and pivotally connected at 4 and carrying rollers 5 which engage slotted guide components 6 on the fixed frame, the side frame members 7 of the back each having a transverse slot 8 to receive a web 2c of strip 2 which is of Z section, the side web portions 2a, 2b being disposed against the outer and inner faces of frame member 7 and secured by screws passing through web 2b. Alternatively the strips may be of H or U section. Specifications 788,096 and 794,138 are referred to.
