Abstract
839,699. Drawing textile fibres; indicating apparatus. CECCHI, B. May 10, 1957 [May 11, 1956], No. 14874/57. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) Apparatus for applying false twist' to rovings whilst they are being drawn has two belt lengths arranged to run side by side at equal speeds and in opposite directions transverse to and on opposite sides of the roving at an adjustable distance apart. The contact with the rovings may be made by two runs of a single belt or by opposed runs of pairs of short endless belts. The belt lengths may be positioned opposite each other or offset. In the first arrangement, Fig. 4, runs 29a, 29b of the belt 29 are held close together by guides 31 and stirrups 30, the former being adjustable. In the alternative arrangement, Figs. 11 and 13, belts 64 pass round pulleys 62, 63 on supports 59 and belts 74 pass round pulleys 73, 75 on a pivoted support 69 mounted on the machine frame through sleeves 79 mounted to slide under the influence of an adjustment knob 83 to alter the distance apart of the belts. If desired, the belts may be tilted by pivoting the supports of pulleys 62, 63, 73, 75, the angle of tilting may be indicated on plates 85. The drawing rollers may be spring-loaded through pivoted arms and adjustable screw-threaded members. Anti-ballooning arrangements in the form of guide loops in sets of three per spindle may be provided.
