Abstract

838,947. Feeding cards. INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS & TABULATORS Ltd. July 3, 1958 [Aug. 7, 1957], No. 24962/57. Class 117 Record cards 1 stacked in magazine 2, are discharged therefrom by reciprocating picker 5 operated by a cam and elevator bars 9 pivoted at 10 are controlled at will by solenoid 31 to elevate the bottom card periodically whereby picker 5 continues to reciprocate cyclically without discharging cards for a required period. Thus, bars 9 are connected to and raised by cam 11 via follower lever 14, latch 12 pivoted to lever 14 at 13, pin 22 secured to arm 23, rock arm 24, and linkage 27-28. Bars 9 are disconnected from cam 11 whenever solenoid 31 rotates arm 33 clockwise to engage latch 12 to disconnect it from pin 12. Thus electrical signals from a computer may stop or start the discharge of the cards from the magazine.
