Abstract

838,908. Stop motion for textile machines. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. July 25, 1958 [Aug. 29, 1957], No. 27253/57. Class 120(2) An electric stop motion in a spinning &c. machine comprises a metal wire feeler arm 23, 'which is fixed to a shaft 22 rotatable in a bracket 21 and has a terminal eye 24 supported by a yarn in its path between the front rollers and the spindle, and a spring 28 arranged to turn the shaft 22 upon breakage of the yarn so that the arm 23 contacts a conductor 30 of the stop motion and to hold the arm 23 in an inoperative position (Fig. 4) when it has been pivoted upwardly. The tension spring 28 is attached to a pin 27 of a disc crank 26 'mounted on the shaft 22 and is anchored at 29 in the bracket 21, the pin 27 being arranged to cross a dead centre when the arm 23 is raised.
