A modification of the balanced piston control valves in the hydraulic control mechanism described and claimed in the parent Specification and shown in Fig. 2, comprises the lengthening of the tapers 10, 11, Fig. 2, of the valving lands 8, 9, to those shown at 10A, 11A, Fig. 5, so that a more gradual cut-off of the flow of pressure fluid takes place allowing a slower build up of pressure (below the maximum) in the ram cylinder and closer control by the operator of the " lifting " of the agricultural implement to which the ram is connected.
