887,116. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems. BOX, J. F. April 19, 1960 [April 21, 1959], No. 13486/59. Class 135. An hydraulic servo system comprises a positive displacement transmitter 26, 27, which displaces fluid in lines 24, 25 and 30, 31 to operate a control valve 21 which controls the supply of fluid from a pump 11 to a power device 16, 17 connected by a lever 18 to a load L. A positive displacement slave unit 34, 35 is actuated by the lever 18 and displaces fluid in lines 32, 24 and 33, 31 to return the control valve 21 to its neutral position. The members 17, 27, 35 may be single-acting instead of double acting. In a second example the linear displacement members 27, 17, 35 are replaced by rotary displacement members. In another example the lines 25, 33 include non- return valves and the return line 23 includes a pressure-relief valve. The valve 21 is of the spool-type and each end has a piston-like extension acted on by the pressures at opposite sides of the double-acting power device so as to provide "feel."
