Abstract

835,300. Fibre drafting apparatus. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO. Ltd. April 17, 1958 [May 2, 1957], No. 14080/57. Classes 120(2) and 120(3) Double apron drafting apparatus with separate upper and lower cradles has the forward end of the upper cradle and a broad lower tensor adapted to interengage to determine the maximum tensor spacing. The lower tensor is both adjustable and interchangeable according to fibre qualities. The lower tensor 10 extends well back towards the apron roller 4 and as convex to urge the lower apron 8 against the upper apron 7. Lugs 19 of the tensor 10 pass into recesses in the lower cradle 12 and flaps 20 on the tensor 10 rest on the cradle 12 and are engaged by hooks 11b of the upper cradle 11. To accommodate more than one tensor spacing with one lower tensor 10, the flaps 20 have stepped edges 20b, 20c against which the hooks 11b abut and by sliding the tensor 10 the location of the hooks 11b is altered. Tensors of different curvatures or flap dimensions may be finished in different colours as well as having identifying numbers on the flaps.
