Abstract
776,192. Gill-boxes. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd. Sept. 13, 1955 [Dec. 3, 1954], No. 35019/54. Class 120 (1). A faller bed of the type having screwdriven fallers and used in drafting textile fibres is provided with rubber or like vibrationabsorbent blocks, such as 12, located on or under slide members 7, 8, 9, 10 on which the fallers 5, 6 slide to cushion the impact of the fallers. Each impact surface is co-planar with the sliding surface with which it is associated. In one form, the slide is reduced in thickness at one end and has attached to the reduced area a thin layer 12 of rubber with a facing 13 of metal to reduce wear. In another embodiment, the slide rests on a block of resilient material at the end receiving the impact of the fallers, the other end of the slide being pivoted.
