Abstract
835,026. Circuits employing bi-stable magnetic elements. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Aug. 24, 1956 [Aug. 25, 1955], No. 25995/56. Class 40 (9). [Also in Groups XIX and XXXV] Four binary digits are stored in a single magnetic core. The core 5 is formed with four pairs of holes 7 and each pair is wound with a coil 9 the axis of which is at right angles to the centre line 6 of the core. A digit is stored by applying a pulse of appropriate polarity to a coil. The stores are read by applying a sampling pulse to winding 11. The pulses induced in the windings 9 indicate the digits stored in the associated regions of the core.
