Abstract
826,688. Translucent panels; windows; ceilings; panels. ELLIS, T. W. and BONE, R. H. Dec. 6, 1957 [Dec. 7, 1956], No. 37491/56. Classes 20(3), 20(4) and 87(1) A translucent panel comprises a rectangular sheet of polystyrene &c. having at least one face ribbed or fluted to diffuse light passing through it, and having interlocking flanges 15, 16 on two opposite edges. The sheet may be corrugated as at 18, Fig. 3, or may have ribs 26 on only one face as in Fig. 4. The panel may be flat, Figs. 2, 3, or slightly curved in the direction transverse to the flanges, Fig. 4. In a false ceiling, the panels are supported by a framework comprising peripheral angle-section members 13 and intermediate T-section members 14 spaced apart by further T-section members, Fig. 1 (not shown).
