[Also in Group XXXIV] Light feed lubricating apparatus, particularly for use with emulsified lubricating oils, comprises a pump housing 1 which is fitted to a cylinder lubricator oil container 2 and accommodates a reciprocatory differential pump plunger, the larger and smaller diameter pistons 3, 5 of which sweep respectively cylinder spaces 4 and 6. A passage 9 opening below oil level into the container 2 communicates through a non- return valve 10 with the cylinder space 4, the upper end of which communicates through a passage 11 with a non-return valve 12 with an adjustable needle valve 13. The latter controls fluid passing to the lower end of a drip feed pipe 14 which enters the upper part of a sight glass vessel 15. The valve 13 has a spindle 16 which is screw-threaded into a valve casing 17 and has a hand wheel 18 graduated to read in conjunction with a fixed pointer 19, an overflow passage 20 interconnecting the container 2 and the passage 11 through a spring-loaded overflow valve 21. The sight vessel 15 is secured over a passage 22 leading to the cylinder space 6 which also communicates, through non-return delivery valves 23, 24, with an outlet 25. When the differential pump plunger 3, 5 is retracted by a spring 8, oil is drawn from the container 2 through the passage 9, and past the valve 10, to enter the space 4. At the same time the smaller diameter piston 5 uncovers the passage 22 so that oil flows into the space 6. When the cam 7 pushes the pump plunger forward the piston 5 forces oil from the pump chamber 6 through the valves 23, 24 to the distribution opening 25 and also closes the passage 22. The larger diameter piston 3 forces oil in the space 4 through the passage 11, the non-return valve 12, and the regulating valve 13 and into the sight feed vessel 15 through the drip pipe 14. The differential pump plunger may be operated by a normally-operated lever or, by lever-andratchet mechanism.
