Abstract

823,461. Bolts. EXPLOSIVE POWER TOOLS Ltd. June 3, 1958 [June 4, 1957], No. 17726/57. Class 89(1) A bolt for driving into concrete, brickwork &c. by a power-actuated hammer, has a shank with a nose-portion a, Fig. 2, and a buttress or knuckle thread b to receive a securing-nut c1. The buttress &c. thread is stated to resist damage on penetrating the sheet &c. c. A shoulder a1 limits the penetration of the bolt, which may have a cylindrical head or a screwed portion a2. The nut c1 may be chamfered to clear burrs formed on the plate c. In a modification, Fig 3, the nose a may be enclosed by nut c2.
