817,460. Charge pumps; exhaust systems. GOTAVERKEN A. B. Nov. 13, 1957 [Jan. 5, 1957], No. 35436/57. Class 7(2) Pipes 5, 6 leading from a twostroke engine exhaust manifold 4 respectively to and around a turbine 11 driving a scavenging blower 13, have diametrically opposed inlets alternatively closable by a valve 8 within the manifold 4 and operable from a handwheel 10 via a threaded stem 9 passing through part of the pipe 6 built into the manifold. The pipe 6 and a turbine exhaust pipe 12 may join or lead separately to a silencer or waste heat boiler. The manifold may be divided by a partition 17 or partitions into sections corresponding to cylinder groups and each feeding a turbine.
