Abstract
816,896. Roller bearing cages. TORRING- TON CO. Aug. 17, 1957, No. 26026/57. Class 12(1). A roller bearing cage comprises a sheet-metal member 9, bent into the form of a cylinder, having cross-bars 13 which normally hold the rollers 7 from dislodgment inwardly and end collars 16 having inner flanges 17 fitting within the ends of the cylinder and having outer flanges 18 carrying integral fingers 19 which extend axially of the bearing between the rollers, thus preventing outward movement of the rollers. The cross-bars 13 have central portions 15 and stepped shoulders 14 which guide the rollers 7 and the bars have sufficient resilience to allow the central portions 15 to be spread apart to receive the rollers 7.
