816,359. Rivets. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. April 30, 1957 [May 2, 1956], No. 13753/57. Class 89(1) A rivet comprises a base 12 with legs 22, 24 extending therefrom and interconnected by a web 26 having a medial portion 28 bent towards the base, one sideedge of the web projecting laterally of the legs to form a shoulder 34. In use, the rivet is inserted through a hole in one panel and then held against removal by the shoulder. The panel is subsequently assembled to a further panel with the legs extending through a hole therein, and the web is then straightened to rivet the panels together.
